  • Conventional 156 mm x 156 mm silicon bottom cell
    20-22% typical efficiency

  • Oxford PV perovskite top cell

  • Resulting 156 mm x 156 mm perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell
    Could exceed 30% efficiency

Our solid-state, thin-film perovskite solar cell technology is designed to enhance the existing $183 billion photovoltaic industry. When built on top of conventional 156 mm x 156 mm silicon solar cells, in a tandem configuration, the resulting perovskite-on-silicon tandem solar cells show highly improved efficiency. This significantly enhances the performance of silicon solar cells on the same footprint, enabling cost reductions that transform the economics of silicon solar energy generation.

Our tandem solution enables
+ 30% combined cell efficiency

Breaks through silicon’s efficiency limit, allowing more power on the same footprint

Ease of integration

Designed to be built into standard PV solar modules, to generate more power, critical for delivering more affordable clean energy

Product differentiation

Allows silicon module manufacturers the ability to offer a higher performance, differentiated product

Transformed silicon solar economics

Dramatically increased power output on the same footprint, reducing the levelised cost of energy (LCOE) of a solar installation

Our highest solar cell efficiency record

Our perovskite-on-silicon solar cell has achieved a certified 29.52% conversion efficiency – validating the ability of perovskite to enhance the performance of silicon-based photovoltaics.
