System Administrator (IT Support Technician)

Oxford PV is looking for an IT support technician to take on initial IT hardware and software related faults, queries, and majority of user administration. You will be joining one the world’s most innovative solar energy companies to support all aspects of IT in the business and additionally support any IT queries from our site in Germany via the helpdesk during peak times.

 

Responsibilities
  • General IT support role
  • First point of contact for IT queries, hardware or software related faults and queries, desktop and app support and installation and new user profile creation.
  • The role will expand with experience of working here to enable the person to be competent to support all aspects of IT within the business.
  • Windows Active Directory administration
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Proactive maintenance and administration of existing systems including servers
  • Assisting with new equipment installations
  • Management of video conferencing facilities
  • Liaise with Finance for hardware and software asset management
  • Help create and maintain documentation
Qualifications and experience

 

Essential

  • 1-3 years of experience supporting IT at 1st or 2nd level.
  • Diploma in IT or Degree in relevant subject
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of Windows 10/11 desktop operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and effective communication skills
  • Be a good team player, with the ability to work efficiently alone
  • Ability to deal with conflicting priorities at times.

Desirable 

  • Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous but not essential

         SQL Server scripting and/or administration

         - Database reporting

         - Hyper-V

         - Azure AD administration

         - Networking, switches etc.

  • Previous experience in a startup and scientific environment

 

Working times and salary

Full Time 37.5 hours- Monday to Friday.

Salary commensurate with experience.
